Miami City Ballet’s 40th season introduces new artistic director and former New York City Ballet principal Gonzalo Garcia and honors MCB founder Toby Lerner Ansin with a commissioned world premiere by choreographer Alexei Ratmansky, “Roses from the South: Three Waltzes for Toby” set to music by Johann Strauss II (Arsht Center, February 20-22). The season also features George Balanchine’s iconic “Jewels” and choreographer Durante Verzola’s new work.
